Copyright and takedowns

Last updated October 28, 2026

Sancy AI is built for studying from material you are allowed to use. This page says what you may upload, who can see it, how to tell us about infringement, and what we do about it.

What you may upload

  • Your own notes, text you wrote, slides your instructor gave your class to study from, and open-licensed material.
  • Not a whole copyrighted book, a paid course you are not enrolled in, leaked exams, or anything you were told not to share.
  • Uploading gives Sancy AI no rights beyond running the service for you. You keep what you own.

Who can see your material

Only you. Material you upload is never shown to anyone else: not to other students, not on the website, and not in the Library. We do not publish it or use it to train AI models. Your material is kept on your device and with your account so it follows you to another device, as the Privacy Policy describes; while you are being tutored, the parts that are needed are sent to our AI provider. Because nothing is published, a rights holder will normally not find a work on Sancy AI. If you think something here infringes your rights, tell us anyway.

Library content

The Library uses passages from OpenStax textbooks (Creative Commons Attribution 4.0) and from Accounting Principles: A Business Perspective (Global Text Project, Creative Commons Attribution 3.0), original study briefs written for Sancy AI, and U.S. Food and Drug Administration drug labels (public domain). College subjects outlines are original topic lists written for Sancy AI. The Credits page names the sources and licenses. If you believe a passage is used outside its license, tell us.

What we do with a notice

We act on complete notices promptly. We may remove or disable the material and tell the person who added it, and we may share the notice with them. A notice that is missing parts may not be acted on, and we may ask you to complete it.

Replying to a notice

If your material was removed and you believe that was a mistake, email support@sancyai.com with the subject Counter-notice. Include your signature, the material and where it was before removal, a statement under penalty of perjury that you believe in good faith it was removed by mistake or misidentification, your name, address and telephone number, and a statement that you agree to the jurisdiction of the courts for your address and will accept service from the person who sent the notice. We send your reply to that person. If they do not tell us within 10 business days that they have started a court action, we may restore the material in 10 to 14 business days.

Repeat infringers

We end the accounts of people who repeatedly infringe copyright. An account that is the subject of two valid notices that were not successfully countered within 12 months is closed, along with its material, and the person may not open a new one.

False claims

Knowingly sending a false notice or counter-notice can make you responsible for damages and costs under the law.

Our own content

The Sancy AI name and logo, the website and app text, the source code, the design and look and feel, the original study briefs and topic outlines, and the lesson, board and question designs belong to Sancy AI LLC, a Texas limited liability company or its licensors. Library passages and pictures from other sources keep their own licenses, which the Credits page names, and those licenses control for that material.

You may study with Sancy AI, link to it, and quote short parts of it with credit where the law allows. Copying it, making a copy or look-alike of it, scraping it, or using it to build or train a competing product or AI model is not allowed, and the Terms of Use say so. To ask for permission, email support@sancyai.com with the subject Permission.

If you think someone has copied Sancy AI, email support@sancyai.com with the subject Copying report, and include where you saw it. We may send takedown notices to the copy's host, app store, domain registrar and search engines, and may go to court.
